The purpose of this study was to examine the forgiving process of older people with the unsolved past hurts. Forgiveness made older people healing the hurts, keeping the healthy and happy life, and achieving ego-integrity easier. Their forgiving process was different from those that mentioned in the other models of interpersonal forgiveness for young adults. Five stages for older people¡¯s forgiving process were ¨ç Destruction of trust and Damaged self-esteem, ¨è Anger and Rumination, ¨é Cognitive change, ¨ê Blossoming forgiveness, and ¨ë Deciding and Acting forgiveness. Their forgiveness was available through cognitive changes based on understanding or empathy about the offenders as well as changing environment or circumstances. The cognitive changes about the offender was available through experiences of healing the hurt (rise of children¡¯s social-economic status to ascend, interaction with others, direct or indirect observation of others¡¯ experience, getting worse health, observation of others¡¯ death, retrospection and healing of life through a religion, education indirect intervention).
